More newer and smaller reactors. Build them. Use thorium as fuel in more conventional designs. Shoot for liquid-fluoride thorium reactors but (don't bank on it though, since it's different it disrupts the market and because of that the incumbent companies have little impetus to go after it). I'd love fusion power but it's not going to happen. The existing power companies don't want cheap power. Fusion is really the holy grail. Abundant fuel and limited radiation as well as scalable. Not going to happen. I live about 20 miles from a nuclear power plant.
Almost all of the Japan nuclear power plant is currently stopped. But electricity is enough. Heat wave last year also the severe winter of this year were sufficient. That need was nuclear power station is Japan.
Run power plant fuel is plutonium. It's the money.
Vegetable-Washing-Power-Generation is wanted to shift with nuclear power as too clean and too safety energy. Lonely guys will be hoped for and redeem from scorn. But people to finish washing vegetable very fast cannot get energy efficiently. -(18 KB)
