But in seriousness, sitting under a kotatsu must be much more comfortable than sitting on the hard floor near the fireplace.

(This means the table is called "chabdai",and it is also used as "kotatsu" with the quilt in winter)
The quilt is stored in a closet with winter clothes.

Kotatsu's heater has only a little power enough to warm in the quilt.
And the heater surely make distance from the kotatsu's quilt while not falling or not moving unlike a normal heater.
Kotatsu is made safely as an electrical appliance.

also when using it,it is necessary to be careful as a heater,
but it is safety if used correctly.

I live in the northern part of America, and we have gotten a lot of snow, but it all melts with in a few days. I have never seen a winter like this around my area. I kind of miss the snow even though I hate having to travel through it. It always makes the area look nicer when it is blanketed by the pristine white snow.

Like the landscape in the picture posted, its absolutely breath taking and beautiful.
