Beside the will to invoke absolutely delicious chili pepper is why I have bought shichimi... Pepper God please forgive me Do you go to supermarkets to buy a hot chili peppers now it?
I grew my own peppers a few years ago, they were good, and really hot, though I forget what kind they were. Thing is, I prefer my peppers pickled, and I couldn't be bothered to learn how to pickle them. Eventually there was a freeze that killed the plant, and I never got around to getting a new one.
I do not know much about wasabi, so I can not answer if it grows in America well. I've had it at Japanese restaurants here, but even then it is probably not fresh.
Korean Chinese owned most of the Japan restaurant in America Falsely bullshit and bad food and Japan food are provided. Ask the nationality they answer Japan
>>22 Though the food is Americanized at least to small degree like nearly everything else here there are certainly many Japanese restaurants. I don't see why the Chinese would fake it when Chinese food is much more popular and has been for decades.
We mostly use mustard here. But it really depends what kind of food you want to flavor, and what flavour you like. >>20 yeah, we have about six Japanese restaurant here, and only one is decent. At least it's cheaper than in Japan.
Eh, it really depends on the restaurant. There are many fake "Japanese" restaurants, but there are also some authentic ones. I was lucky because both my hometown and the town I went to college in had genuine Japanese food made by families that came from Japan.
My situation is similar to >>24. Both cities being located on the coasts contributes to more authentic Japanese food because of the higher population of Japanese.
